A weekend away in the Hunter Valley

A weekend away in the Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley is steeped with culture, heritage and delicious local produce that makes it famous, not only in Australia but the world over. On our recent trip to California, we noticed Hunter Valley wines on many restaurant menus. It made us super proud of our Australian roots as a brand, especially as the Hunter Valley was the place to inspire the rich hues and luxurious prints of our latest collection.

To help you plan your next sundrenched escape to Australia's oldest wine region, we’ve compiled our top stay, wineries and eats of the magical Hunter Valley.

Where to stay

For a luxury stay:

The modern country farmhouse vibe at Spicer’s Retreat is warm, welcoming and a great place to relax and unwind. Situated in the heart of the Hunter Valley, the Spicers Guesthouse celebrates the rich heritage of the wine region.

On a budget:

The Hunter Gateway Motel is super conveniently located near the airport at Maitland for a weekend stay in the Hunter Valley. With free WiFi, parking and an outdoor pool, it’s a gateway to exploring what the region has to offer.

What To Do

Forget the land of milk and honey, we’re all about wine and chocolate and the Hunter Valley truly is a paradise for connoisseurs of good food and wine. Here are our top foodie and wineries to visit.

Scarborough Wine

Undoubtedly the best chardonnay in the world, amongst other incredible wines - Scarborough Wine is our co-founder Sylvie's favourite winery in the Hunter. As a family owned and boutique winery, this is a friendly and laid back experience with many tasting options available.

Brokenwood Winery

A trip to the Hunter Valley wouldn’t be complete without a trip to a vineyard (or three). The picturesque Brokenwood winery offers a variety of wine tasting and tour options to suit all budgets and interests too. We love the super exclusive soil-to-cellar experience for a swanky occasion.

Krinklewood

The Biodynamic and certified organic vineyard and provencal style gardens at Krinklewood is the perfect place to while away the afternoons. From laid-back tasting sessions to premium events and picnics on the lawn, the estate offers unique experiences all whilst enjoying sweeping views of the Broken Back mountain range and maybe even a glimpse of their resident peacock.

With a fabulous array of handmade chocolates and freshly made fudge, the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company  is heaven on earth for those with a sweet tooth. Watch as chocolate maestro Peter creates delicious and innovative treats before indulging in a hot chocolate in their on-site cafe.
